Pros: Boater oriented, if you are a boater
Cons: Boater oriented, if you are not a boater
Bottom Line: This service is run by boaters who struggled
to get their mail while on a long trip. If you are a boater, they
might be right for you.
Voyagers Service
is designed specifically to serve the needs of boaters who are out
on their lengthy world explorations. While most of us would love
to be able to do this, the truth is that there are only a few lucky
souls who are actually able to travel like this around the world.
But if you are, here's what to could get from Voyagers Service.
For $199 per year (10% discount available if you sign-up online),
you'll be able to have your mail shipped to them at their address
in Florida. They'll send it to you when you request it and they'll
sort out the junk mail for you, if you want them to. You need to
give them a $100 deposit for shipping, and then they'll use it to
ship your items to your location.
Their site isn't much to look at, but we enjoyed some of their
discussion about the pitfalls of having someone you know try to
handle your mail for you when you are outside of the US.
Additional services
- Voice mail ($100/year)
- Bill paying ($20/month plus $2 per item)
- Red tag items the should look for (Additional service fee)
- Mail sorting (Additional service fee)
- Message relaying ($2 each)
- Various marine specific items
Rates
Annual fee is $199 plus your shipping charges. Since their services
are specifically designed for boaters, we didn't calculate any shipping
charges. If you fall into this category, your best bet is probably
to contact them directly to discuss your planned route and what
it would cost to ship to you along that route.
